4 Blisters and Counting

Lander called yesterday. Her feet are sore. She wasn't sure how far they had hiked- maybe 16 miles? Her phone battery was dying so I am thinking we won't hear from her for a few more days. She is journaling so she doesn't forget to post things.
If you have any questions just comment and she can answer them. Send her some encouraging words.

  1. lander! here is how to treat blisters, from wikipedia:

To relieve blister-related pain, drain the fluid while leaving the overlying skin intact. To do this:
Wash your hands and the blister with soap and warm water.
Swab the blister with iodine or rubbing alcohol.
Sterilize a clean, sharp needle by wiping it with rubbing alcohol.
Use the needle to puncture the blister. Aim for several spots near the blister's edge. Let the fluid drain, but leave the overlying skin in place.
Apply an antibiotic ointment to the blister and cover with a bandage or gauze pad.
Cut away all the dead skin after several days, using tweezers and scissors sterilized with rubbing alcohol. Apply more ointment and a bandage.[10]

yay! a blister is worth a thousand words...

  4. Lander! You are adding spice and excitement to my somewhat dull life! My imagination is growing more alive as I imagine what you are doing! If it is true for me then it is true for others so be encouraged to keep on going through the hard parts to get to the beautiful parts. Your feet need to toughen up just like in real life, we have to toughen up. Don't forget these Bible verses: Philippians 4:6,7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."
These verses are literally followed in my heart as I pray about the most mundane trivialities that I have never told anyone. He listens, and you can also see what He promises. We love you!
